Local attractions include:

Ivan operates his own charter boat and with the help of his crew, will ensure you have a memorable trip on the water. If staying at the B & B, 'Above the Lake', Taupo, then you can have your catch hot smoked for breakfast if you wish. You cannot buy trout in New Zealand, but if you catch your own then it is yours to enjoy.

It is possible to arrange a local guide to show the wonders of New Zealand's world famous rivers and streams.

Golf

Taupo has three great golf courses, including internationally acclaimed Wairakei Golf Course. (no need to hire golf clubs, both a ladies' and gent's set are available for guest's use.)

'Above the Lake' is a modern home, situated in central Taupo to capture glorious sunsets over the Lake. Evening drinks are enjoyed in the main lounge or on the balcony that overlooks the sparkling waters of Lake Taupo and the night lights of Taupo town. Enjoy a glass of crisp New Zealand wine on the garden deck or while taking a dip in the spa pool. In the winter, after a hard day's skiing on Mt. Ruapehu, curl up with a book in front of the fire or watch those favourite sports on Sky TV. Each guest suite does have its own lounge, but guests are welcome to use the main lounge as well.
