Fishermen's Tales
Several years ago a fellow angler became most upset with the allegations from his
work colleagues that fishermen were always prone to exaggeration. That claim seems to now be enshrined in the
folklore of fishing or, as Isaac Walton would define "Angler".
Since we arrived in New Zealand Lake Taupo has provided several tales and brought
memories flooding back.
There are several stories that must be related, where possible fact has been preferred over fiction, believe me
I have been fishing since the age of four.
If you have a fishing story that merits inclusion on this site please email the text to me for our next update
at You must confirm that this is your own original work and that you waive all
copyright in favour of Windsor Charters.
