Winter 2008 Trout Fishing and/or Accommodation Report.
Summer is a thing of the past. Winter is in full swing. Temperatures in the lake and on land are providing holiday makers with perfect conditions. Wind is just 1 Kph this morning. Temp expected to be 14 degrees Celsuis. This means a great winter day out on the lake. Looking out of my lounge window, the lake is magical and calling me to go and play. Looking down to Tongariro National Park, the mountains are stunningly beautiful. Fresh snow covering the three sacred peaks. Mt Ruapehu, Mt Ngauruhoe and Mt Tongariro.
For the fisho's out there. The catch rates over the last two months have been particularly good. On every charter, a tasty trout has been bought back to shore for the table. Best size, 7lb brown caught by a visitor from USA. We have two fantastic restaurants in Taupo that we always recommend where you can BYO trout. Remember, you can not buy trout in NZ. You must catch it your self. If you are planning to stay at our B&B, Bruce would be happy to prepare it for your breakfast the following morning should you wish.
We anticipate a good season on the lake. While you are on our website, click on accommodation and check out our Winter Accommodation Deal. If the dates you are interested in show up green, we still have a room available. If it shows up white, we can accommodate up to six adults. We look forward to your company, either on our charter boat or in our home. Kindest regards, Angela. www.troutfishingtaupo.com
